James Forbat was born in London in 1986 and trained professionally at the Royal Ballet School from the age of 11. With The Royal Ballet School he toured to New York and Japan dancing Colas in La Fille Mal Gardée, Ashton’s Monotones and Pas de Quatre from Raymonda.
James joined the English National Ballet Company in 2005 and was promoted to First Artist in 2008 and Soloist in 2009. With ENB James’ repetoire includes : The Prince in The Nutcracker, The Prince in The Sleeping Beauty, Albrecht in Giselle Pas de Quatre in Swan Lake, Escorts in Coppelia, Hans Van Manen’s Trois Gnossiennes, Wolves in Corder’s Snow Queen and Etudes. He has toured internationally to Greece, Austria, Italy France, Spain, Hong Kong, China and The United States.
In 2007 James was nominated for the Critic’s circle dance awards and the Times Southbank show newcomer award.
